Topic 2.1.2: Legacy (Stand-Alone) InTouch Applications

Stand-Alone Applications

A stand-alone application uses the same InTouch components as InTouch versions earlier than 10.0.

  • This type of InTouch application supports only classic InTouch native graphics, InTouch Wizards, and Active X controls.
  • Legacy InTouch applications are folder- and file-based storage.
  • Though NAD may be used to deploy these applications it is more common to copy the InTouch Application Folder with all of the application files from one computer to another computer.

Key Points

  • A stand-alone application is created and managed by Application Manager. A stand-alone application consists of a set of files maintained by the InTouch HMI in the directory file system.
  • A stand-alone application is built entirely with WindowMaker and run with WindowViewer.
  • A stand-alone application does not interact with the ArchestrA IDE, nor does it contain any ArchestrA graphics.
  • A stand-alone application can be deployed across multiple network nodes and is not restricted to a single node.
  • A stand-alone application can be imported to the ArchestrA IDE and converted to a managed application.
