The Enterprise Console home page comprises the following sections:

Work items list:

The Work items list displays a list of activities assigned to the logged in user by workflows in the repository which the user has logged into. The Work items list has an Inbox view and permits users (also known as actors) to respond to the activities assigned.

Enterprise Console menu:

The Enterprise Console left menu has the following options:

Dashboard:

This is the default view when a user logs on to the Enterprise Console using the administrator rights. The Dashboard provides an easy-to-read graphical display of webparts, such as the Inbox and Business Activity Monitoring. You can customize the Dashboard according to their specific business requirements.

Inbox:

This option shows the Work items list.

Workflows:

Selecting Workflows displays the workflow list which has options to create Workflow, Infopath Workflow, FileWatcher Workflow, List Workflow, Workflow for Microsoft SharePoint, BAM Workflow, and Folder. The workflow list also provides options to view, delete, design, edit, publish, manage, and associate workflows and change owner information. You can also apply security at this list level.

Fill Form:

This option allows the user to fill form. It has a security feature that restricts access to the users who can fill the form.

Reports:

Selecting Reports displays the Business Activity Monitoring dashboard with real-time reporting on workflow execution. 

Tools:

This option provides link to manage lists, forms, work items, and views. It also has the SOA assembly, form controls, external connections, and ArchestrA Events links.

Settings:

The Settings group has options for Database Connections, Calendar, Queue Management, Users, Alternate Actor, Impersonation User, File Watcher, SOA Folder, Lookup Settings, Global Work Item Layout, Data Grid, and Reporting Service.   

  • The Database Connections option enables the user to create a new data source connection, edit and delete an existing data source connection, and manage security.
  • The Calendar option enables setting up of multi-level organization and resource calendars.
  • The Queue Management option enables setting up of queues.
  • The Alternate Actor option enables assigning an alternate actor for acting on a task or an activity that was assigned to a primary actor. For more information about how to set an alternate actor.
  • The Users option enables user maintenance tasks such as adding new users to the Enterprise Console, editing and deleting existing users, and managing security.
  • The Impersonation User option enables you to create new impersonation users which will have domain account users with full rights.
  • The File Watcher option enables the user to continuously monitor one or more folders for incoming files and raises events like created, updated, renamed and deleted.
  • The SOA Folder option enables user to register a folder, delete a folder, disable an enabled folder, enable a disabled folder, and manage security settings.
  • The Lookup Settings option enables the user to create a new database.
  • The Global Work Item Layout option enables the user to define and save a global or specific layout for the Work items list.
  • The Web Part Pages option enables the user to access the three default home page templates and personalize web part settings in them. Note that when you click Web Part Pages > Page 3, you will always be redirected to Page.

Header:

The header of all the pages in the Enterprise Console displays the name of the logged on user, the repository, and the user provider.
