Topic 2.4.3: Before You Upgrade The Version
Before you upgrade to the latest version of AVEVA Workflow Management, perform the following:
- Set up the computer to meet the requirements to run the installer of AVEVA Workflow Management.
- Back up the entire installed folder from the Install Path (For example: <Install Drive>:\Program Files\Wonderware\Workflow Management) and all the databases associated with the previous version of AVEVA Workflow Management. If there are any custom activities defined, you need to add these file details manually after the upgrade is complete.
- Create backup copies of all your existing databases, as the Database schema and content are changed during the upgrade process. Most databases provide a backup wizard or other user assistance for creating database backups. Contact your database administrator for more information.
- Upgrade all custom assemblies, such as custom activities, SOA assembles, custom event handler, custom resource provider, or any custom components to support .Net Framework 4.7.1 and to refer to the latest version of AVEVA Workflow Management assembly references.
- Ensure to use Connectors and Extensions, which are compatible with the latest version of AVEVA Workflow Management.
- Perform the following tasks manually, if the Upgrade Manager fails to automatically complete any of these tasks. Ensure that you have Administrative privilege and sufficient rights to perform the following tasks.
- Stop the following AVEVA Workflow Management services:
- Client Service
- Workflow Engine
- Task Scheduler
- Communication Service
- Mobile Notification Service
- To upgrade an Enterprise Server version, ensure to stop the Advance Server service.
- To upgrade in a client computer, ensure to stop the Client service.
- To upgrade in a client machine which is connected to an Enterprise Server, ensure to stop both the Advance Server service and Client service.
- To stop IIS, run Command Prompt as an Administrator, type iisreset /stop, and then press Enter.
- Delete the SkeltaBPMTemp folder from C:\Windows\Temp.
- Delete the AVEVA Workflow Management Cache files and folders from C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.XXXXX\Temporary ASP.NET Files\.
- Start theAVEVA Workflow Management related services.
- To start IIS, run Command Prompt as an Administrator, type iisreset /start, and then press Enter.
- Stop the following AVEVA Workflow Management services:
