Topic 2.2.3: Web Server and Workflow Management Server on Different Machines

In this scenario, the Services and the Database Server will be installed on the same machine while the Central Configuration Site and the Enterprise Console will exist on a different machine. This deployment is recommended for a Production environment.

Advantages

  • It is possible to secure AVEVA Workflow Management Databases behind a firewall
  • Better performance is obtained from the database-intensive AVEVA Workflow Management Solution by hosting AVEVA Workflow Management Databases on a different machine

Disadvantages

  • Load Balancing is not supported
  • High CPU utilization due to load on Web applications affects the performance of Workflow Management Workflow Engine
  • Scale-Out is not possible
