Topic 9.2.2: Types of Instances

  • Process Instances
    • Process instances are assigned to operations in the Recipe Editor.
    • Process Instances represent the members of the associated process class that are referenced in the recipe procedure.
    • If more than one unit is required simultaneously from the selected process class, multiple instance names must be defined.
    • Process Instance Configuration Options
      • Name
      • Unit Selection Mode
      • Unit Assignment
      • Instance Attributes
  • Transfer Instances
    • Transfer Instances represent the members of the associated transfer class that are referenced in the recipe procedure.
    • If multiple process instances are defined, then multiple transfer instances must be defined so that the recipe builder can differentiate the transfer phases into and out of each process instance.
    • As a general rule, whenever more than one connection from within the same transfer class must be allocated at the same time, multiple transfer instances are required.
