Topic 9.1.2: Allocation and Release Summary
- Allocation and Release Summary
- Allocating: When a unit is Allocated by a batch, it is owned by the batch and cannot be used by another batch until it is Released by the batch or the batch has been completed.
- Automatic Allocating: A Unit is required to execute a phase. The batch management system will Allocate the first available unit in the Train the batch is assigned to run on if the Unit Selection Mode is Automatic.
- If there is more than one Unit available and the Unit Selection Mode is Manual, a list of available Units will be presented to the operator for selection.
- The Unit will remain Allocated to the batch until the batch is transferred to another unit. The Batch Manager will Allocate the Destination Unit and when the transfer is complete, will Release the Source Unit.
- Recipe Allocating: The Allocate and Release phases can be used at any time to Allocate and Release units.
- All classes of equipment defined in the recipe's equipment requirements can be Allocated or Released.
- There are no parameters associated with either the allocated or release phases. When an Allocate phase is encountered, execution will not continue until a unit is Allocated.
- Recipe Allocating has higher priority than Automatic Allocating. A Unit that is Recipe Allocated will only become Released by a Release phase or when the batch ends.
- Manual Allocating:
- Units are Allocated and Released by the operator.
- Manual Allocating has higher priority than Recipe Allocating.
- Any Unit Allocated Manually can only be Released Manually or at the end of the batch.
