Topic 7.2.3: Libraries

  • Save a Unit Procedure in the Unit Procedures Library
    • The Save Unit Procedure button displays the Save Unit Procedure dialog box. Any unitprocedure can be saved in the recipe-independent unit procedure library.
    • A Unit Procedure Name (16-characters maximum) and an unlimited comment can be defined with the unit procedure for future reference.
    • The unit procedure will be added to the Unit Procedures Library list along with the Process Class, Process Instance, the Date the unit procedure is added, and all operations, phases and configuration information.
  • Save an Operation in the Operations Library
    • The Save Operation button displays the Save Operation dialog box. Any operation can be saved in the recipe-independent operation library.
    • An Operation Name (16-characters maximum) and an unlimited comment can be defined with the operation for future reference.
    • The operation will be added to the Operations Library list along with the Process Class, Process Instance, the Date the operation is added, and all phases and configuration information.
  • Phase Tab
    • The Phase tab contains several options that determine how a phase interacts with an operator and with other batch system components. Each phase in the procedure can have a unique configuration.
  • Label
    • Each phase is automatically assigned a unique label when it is added to the recipe procedure.
    • This label consists of a maximum of 8 characters. The label values can be changed to anything the recipe builder desires, but labels are required for each phase in order to validate the recipe.
    • The phase label is saved to the historical database when the phase is executed as part of a batch.
  • Instructions Tab
    • The Instructions tab permits work instructions to be embedded with the phase and displayed to the operator upon execution. Each phase in the procedure can have a unique configuration.
    • Click the Change button after any option is modified.
  • Parameters Tab
    • The Parameters tab displays the formula parameters defined for the phase. The parameters are defined for a phase in the Process Model Editor.
    • The specific values of the parameters are defined in this dialog. Each phase in the procedure can have a unique configuration.
    • There are three types of formula parameters: Input, Output, and Process Variable. Selecting each will vary the type (Input, Output or Process Variable) that you are editing.
    • Use the Sort By Name check box to sort the parameter list. Click the Change button after any option is modified.
  • Document Tab
    • Use the Document tab to assign the file name of a document or program that you want operators to view and optionally acknowledge as part of a phase's execution.
  • Unit Procedure Library
    • The Unit Procedure Library icon displays the Unit Procedures Library dialog box. Unit Procedures can be stored for future use in this library.
    • A stored unit procedure consists of a Unit Procedure Name (16-characters maximum) and optional comments of unlimited length.
    • The Unit Procedures Library is recipe independent, and there is no limit on the number of unit procedures that can be stored.
  • Operations Library
    • The Operations Library icon displays the Operations Library dialog box. Operations can be stored for future use in this library.
    • A stored operation consists of an Operation Name (16-characters maximum) and optional comments of unlimited length.
    • The Operations Library is recipe independent, and there is no limit on the number of operations that can be stored.
