Topic 2.3.3: Overview of InBatch Licensing
- Overview of InBatch Licensing
- InBatch Server is licensed based on the number of defined units in the system. A unit is defined as a group of processing equipment that performs one of the following functions.
- The unit processes materials. Examples: reactors, mixers, blenders, and retorts.
- The unit holds materials. Examples: manual add stations, holding tanks, bulk storage vessels, and filling stations.
- InBatch Server is licensed by three different size groups:
- Large: unlimited units
- Medium: 16-40 units
- Small: 1-15 units
- InBatch Redundant Server requires its own license based on the above classification.
- InBatch uses Wonderware Information Server for all reporting, eliminating the need for Crystal Reports or other third party reporting packages. InBatch Server includes a Portal server license for Wonderware Information Server that can be deployed on a separate machine. The Portal license includes:
- Information Server Client Access License - Standard (deployed on any machine)
- MS SQL Server Client Access License
- Additional reporting clients require purchase of additional Wonderware Information Server client licenses.
- Additional InBatch or Wonderware Information Server reporting clients also require the purchase of Wonderware Client Access Licenses.
- InBatch Runtime Client allows use of Batch Client application and InBatch ActiveX controls in InTouch, or 3rd party container application. InTouch is licensed separately.
- InBatch Development Client allows the use of Environment Manager and necessary applications to develop or maintain InBatch systems, such as Process Model Editor, Recipe Editor, etc.
- InBatch Server is licensed based on the number of defined units in the system. A unit is defined as a group of processing equipment that performs one of the following functions.
