Lab 24: Using Background Scripts

Step 1: Open the Project Tags Datasheet View and create the tags as shown below.


Step 2: In the Insert tab of the Ribbon, select Scheduler from the Task Worksheets group.


Step 3:  The SCHED001 tab will be displayed in the Workspace.

Step 4: Configure the worksheet as shown below,


Step 5: Save and close the SCHED001 worksheet.

Step 6: In the Insert tab of the Ribbon, select Math from the Task Worksheets group.


Step 7: The MATH001 tab will be displayed in the Workspace.

Step 8: Configure the worksheet as shown below,


Step 9: Save and close the MATH001 worksheet.

Step 10: Open the MAIN DRIVER SHEET of the MOTCP communication driver.

Step 11: Configure the field called Disable as shown below.


Step 12: Save and close the MAIN DRIVER SHEET.

Step 13: Open the HEADER screen.

Step 14: On the Graphics tab of the Ribbon, select Check Box from Active Objects.


Step 15: Click and drag on the HEADER screen to shape the object.


Step 16: Double-click on the object to open the properties.

Step 17: In Caption, configure Enable Simulation.

Step 18: In Tag, add the bSimulation tag.


Step 19: Save the changes made and close the HEADER screen.

Step 20: your runtime is on a remote machine, then use the Remote Management tools on the Home tab of the Ribbon to download your project to the remote machine.

Step 21: Start the runtime.

Step 22: Click the Enable Simulation check box in the header.

Step 23: Verify that that you can read tank analog values and control valves independent of the PLC.
