Lab 14.2 – Create the ScheduledEvent Tag

Create the ScheduledEvent Tag

Now you will create the second event tag, using a fixed schedule to collect a series of summary values from different tags periodically.

Step 11. Right-click Event Tags and select New Tag. The New Event Tag dialog box opens.

Step 12. In the Unique Tag Name field, enter ScheduledEvent.

Step 13. Click Next.

Step 14. In the New Event Tag - General dialog box, in the Description field, enter Event triggered periodically every 15 minutes.

Step 15. Click Next.

Step 16. Configure the New Event Tag - Detector dialog as follows:

Detector Type:Schedule

Frequency:Periodic

Minute:15

Step 17. Click Next.

Step 18. In the New Event Tag - Action dialog box, in Action Type, select Summary from the drop- down list.

Step 19. Click the Add button.

The Summary Operation Properties dialog box appears.

Step 20. Configure the following:

Calculation Type: MAX (default)

Duration:1 Hour (default)

Description:Maximum mixer temperature

Step 21. Click OK.

The MAX calculation appears in the New Event Tag - Action window.

Step 22. Select the MAX calculation to enable the bottom buttons and click Tags.

 

The Summary Tag List: ScheduledEvent dialog box appears.

Step 23. Click Add.

The Tag Finder dialog box appears.

Step 24. In the Tag Name field, enter M%00.

Step 25. Click Find Now.

Step 26. From the Found Tags list, move M100.TT.PV and M200.TT.PV to the Target Tags list.

Step 27. Click OK.

Step 28. Click OK.

Step 29. In the New Event Tag - Action dialog box, click Add.

Step 30. In the Summary Operation Properties dialog box, configure the following:

Calculation Type: AVG

Duration:3 Hours

Description:Speed average

Step 31. Click OK.

The AVG calculation is now listed.

Step 32. In the New Event Tag - Action dialog box, select the AVG calculation to enable the bottom buttons and click Tags.

The Summary Tag List: ScheduledEvent dialog box appears.

Step 33. Click Add.

Step 34. Using the Tag Finder, add Agitator_001.Speed.PV, and Agitator_002.Speed.PV to the

Summary Tag List: ScheduledEvent dialog box.

Step 35. Click OK.

Step 36. In the New Event Tag - Action dialog box, click Add.

Step 37. In the Summary Operation Properties dialog box, configure the following:

Calculation Type: MIN

Duration:30 Minutes

Description:Motor minimum temperature

Step 38. Click OK.

The MIN calculation is now listed. 

Step 39. In the New Event Tag - Action dialog box, select the MIN calculation to enable the bottom buttons and click Tags.

The Summary Tag List: ScheduledEvent dialog box appears.

Step 40. Click Add.

Step 41. Using the Tag Finder, add Agitator_001.Temp.PV and Agitator_002.Temp.PV to the

Summary Tag List: ScheduledEvent dialog box.

Step 42. Click OK.

Step 43. Click Finish.

The ScheduledEvent tag is added to the Event Tags tag name pane.
